ECOOP 2008 Call for Workshop Proposals
The 2008 European Conference on Object-Oriented Programming has put out a call for workshop proposals. "ECOOP 2008 will host a number of workshops addressing different areas of object-oriented technology. Workshops serve as a forum for exchanging late breaking ideas and theories in an evolutionary stage. They typically focus on either in depth analysis or broad-ranging approaches to areas related to object-oriented technology."
The proposal deadline is December 26, 2007. The conference will be held from July 7 to 11, 2008, in Paphos, Cyprus.
ICFP 2008 Call for Workshop Proposals
The 2008 ACM SIGPLAN International Conference on Functional Programming has put out a call for workshop proposals. "ICFP provides a forum for researchers and developers to hear about the latest work on the design, implementations, principles, and uses of functional programming."
The submission deadline is November 21, 2007. The conference will be held from September 22 to 24, 2008, in Victoria, BC, Canada.
2007 Workshop on Scheme and Functional Programming Registration Now Open
It has been announced that registration is now open for the 2007 Workshop on Scheme and Functional Programming. "The purpose of the workshop is to discuss experience with and future developments of the Scheme programming language, as well as general aspects of computer science loosely centered on the general theme of Scheme."
The early registration deadline is September 7, 2007. The workshop will be held on September 30, 2007, in Freiburg, Germany.
Sixth ACM SIGPLAN Erlang Workshop Programme Available
It has been announced that the programme is available for the Sixth ACM SIGPLAN Erlang Workshop. "This workshop will bring together the open source, academic, and industrial programming communities of Erlang. It will enable participants to familiarize themselves with recent developments on new techniques and tools tailored to Erlang, novel applications, draw lessons from users' experiences and identify research problems and common areas relevant to the practice of Erlang and functional programming."
The workshop will be held on October 5, 2007, in Freiburg, Germany.
LTPD 2007 Call for Submissions
The First Workshop on Languages and Tools for Parallel and Distributed Programming has put out a call for submissions. "The objective of this workshop is to bring together researchers working on the design and implementation of programming languages, tools and techniques for distributed, parallel and mobile programming."
The submission deadline is August 24, 2007. The workshop will be held from October 24 to 27, 2007, in Gramado, Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil.
Request for Participation in the First Workshop on Programming Languages and Integrated Development Environments (PLIDE)

A programming language's success increasingly depends on how well it is supported by integrated development environments (IDEs). Unfortunately, despite the advent of open and extensible IDEs, adding language support to an IDE largely remains a "black art;" the necessary knowledge and experience, learned mostly through trial-and-error, is not easily disseminated. This workshop will bring together industry practitioners and researchers to exchange, discuss, and develop techniques for supporting languages in IDEs including (but not limited to) Eclipse, NetBeans, Visual Studio, and IntelliJ. Topics that will be discussed include how to build "presentation compilers" that underlie IDE services, how to build these IDE services, intra and inter-language refactoring and program analysis, and special considerations for dynamic or interactive languages. In the course of this workshop, existing practices and open problems in this field will be identified with the goal of creating ongoing communication and collaboration within this community.

The Workshop on GCC Internals has been announced. It is a three-day instructional workshop involving lectures and lab exercises that provide details as to the internals of the GNU Compiler Collection.
