Online Flex Compiler with ASP.NET Web Service

Two things I like about .NET is reflection and runtime compilation. So I thought I would see how far I could take Flex in that direction, using the new Flex 3 beta 3. I created an “online Flex compiler” – that is, a Flex application that allows the user to input some source code and have it compiled and executed directly.

Workday takes ERP software into the RIA space

When you think of RIA (rich Internet applications), you might think of Flash, Flex, Web 2.0, and the hipster of the web: all those social networking sites and applications like Facebook or Buzzword. Why the Web Needs a True Revolution

This is not a post about Web 2.0. Or maybe it is. Maybe it's an epiphamy I had recently about the sorry state of boilerplate code in the web UI space and how complicated frameworks, crap design patterns, and sorry excuses for some sort of synergy in the AJAX and DHTML space pushed me away from the web tier as we now know it and towards the middle tier. Maybe it's my recent experience with Flex 2.

Using Laszlo in Web Applications

So.. have been away for a while...I've recently started using Laszlo in one of the web applications I am doing for my client. Needless to mention, the UI looks really cool and if you look at some of the demos on their website you'll know what I mean.
