Audicle: Context-sensitive, On-the-fly Audio Programming Environ/mentality

The Audicle is a real-time software development and performance environment for the ChucK audio programming language. It combines elements of an editor, virtual machine, debugger, and visualization, potentially leading to new ways to write and visualize audio programs for composition and live musical performance.

The Audicle inherits many of ChucK’s fundamental properties, including: decoupling of data-flow and time, concurrency, and modularity for on-the-fly programming. It provides a potentially useful tool for visualizing audio synthesis in real-time time, and motivates a new type of on-the-fly programming aesthetic: on of visualizing the audio programming process.
