We are pleased to announce the release of Code Igniter Version 1.0 Beta, an Application Framework for PHP programmers. Code Igniter comes with over 20 libraries that enable developers to perform the most commonly needed web development tasks, like session management, sending email, image manipulation, file uploading, validating form data, working with XML-RPC, and much more.

Lastly, we’d like to tip our hat to Ruby on Rails for bringing frameworks into the general web consciousness and inspiring us to create our own framework using PHP.
