CinePaint is an application primarily used for motion picture frame-by-frame retouching and dust-busting. It has been used on many feature films, including The Last Samurai.

CinePaint is based on The GIMP, and is a fork from version 1.0.4.

Seashore is an open source image editor for Cocoa (OSX). It features gradients, textures and anti-aliasing for both text and brush strokes. It supports multiple layers and alpha channel editing. It is based around the GIMP’s technology and uses the same native file format.
