The KOffice team is happy to announce a new alpha version which demonstrates

KOffice2 platform. This release shows the ongoing committment
of the KOffice developers to create a great version 2 with

release notes. Highlights in this release is support for all major
platforms (Windows, Mac, Unix), much improved ODF support and start
of sound support.

The First release of KOffice 2.0 alpha for Windows
The First release of KOffice 2.0 alpha for Windows is now available for testing. This is
one of the most visible steps to bring the KOffice suite to Windows users. The KOffice package can be
installed using the KDE Windows Installer.
There are still some rough edges in the packaging, since you will have to copy the dll files
from kde4/lib to kdek/bin directories which contains the executables. More information about installing KDE applications
on Windows can be found in KDE on Windows/Installation Techbase article.
KOffice alpha Installer for Windows
An installer for KOffice alpha on Windows is now available for testing. This is
one of the most visible steps to bring the KOffice suite to Windows users. The
installer can be download from here,

Logos and more help for KOffice
While KOffice has been working on integrating look and feel between
applications for the 2.0 release, the logos and artwork for the individual
KOffice applications has been unchanged for a long time. This has finally
changed with the introduction of a set of KOffice logos. Read more on

Help the Libre Graphics Meeting
Please help the Libre Graphics Meeting, the most important gathering of developers of free graphics software.
The organizers are looking for donations to bring as many participants as possible to this event. The
KOffice developers who will attend are sponsored by KDE e.V., but they want to meet as many of their
world-wide colleagues as possible!
