The GlassFish project isn’t just about Java EE – it also includes technology for Web Services and AJAX.

zfs

ZFS is a 128 bit file system released by Sun for Solaris/OpenSolaris. ZFS integrates the filesystem and the management of volumes, which is unlike most other file systems.

ZFS has advanced functionality, and can be used to store practically unlimited amounts of data: 16 exabytes is the file size and file system limit, and each directory can hold up to 2^48 files.

The Open Web SSO project provides identity services to help implement single sign on.

Targeted towards the web tier, Open Web SSO provides for integration of web applications that operate against a disparate set of identity repositories and are hosted on a variety of platforms such as web and application servers.

This project is based on the code base of Sun’s Java(tm) System Access Manager product, a core identity infrastructure product offered by Sun Microsystems.

The intended audience for this project are intermediate to advanced skill level developers and IT managers who want to use this project to achieve intranet and/or extranet single sign on for their hosted web applications.

OpenDS is a project building a comprehensive next generation directory server that includes a directory server and directory related services.

It is designed to address large deployments, to provide high performance, to be highly extensible, and to be easy to deploy, manage and monitor. The directory service includes not only the Directory Server, but also other essential directory-related services like directory proxy, virtual directory, namespace distribution and data synchronization.

Initial development of OpenDS was done by Sun Microsystems, but is now developed under the open source Common Development and Distribution License (CDDL).
