New month, new season, new desktop

Installed ubuntu 6.06 desktop to be used as my work (client) machine. The right hand app is xmms skinned. Bit flowery for me but its bright and stands out.

So what have I found with the new install?

*smaller
-but you have to download a lot more
*faster install
*UI improvements (subtle)
-moved applications from app menu
*same apps available
*painless installation
-used to be a mandriva user but the superior package installation of debian (apt-get) slowly won me over
-that and never being able to get complicated hand compiled dependent installs to work correctly
-no cost online upgrade
*server & desktop
-nice version of both server & desktop
-although the server version is a 400Mb download :(
*free
*python based
