Hi
Is it possible to make a bootable JNode USB ?

I will be attending the Web 2.0 Expo this year in San Francisco April 22-25, 2008. I thought that it might be a good opportunity to learn about some new technologies and meet and greet some people I’ve looked up to and perhaps in the off chance someone who might look up to me. If you live in the San Francisco area and are attending the Expo please leave a comment if you want to meet with me. If you aren’t planning on attending the Expo I will be setting aside some time outside of the Expo to meet and greet Pliggers who might be interested in learning more about the project. You can also leave a comment if you are interested in meeting me for coffee and I’ll try to plan something out ahead of time.
We’re looking for some new developers with a variety of skills to contribute to Pligg in their spare time. If you have any skills in PHP, MySQL, Javascript, XHTML/CSS, Template Lite, web server admin skills or many other similar talents please contact us by leaving a blog comment or by joining the Pligg Developers Facebook Group. If you have any friends who might be interested in helping out, don’t hesitate to forward them a link to this post or the Facebook group. Being part of an open source project like Pligg provides a lot of programmers with experience and skills that transfer into other projects and jobs. It also will look great on your resume. The biggest joy in becoming an open source developer are the connections and friends that you make along the way.

It can only make a bootable JVM layer to adopt so many kind of opensource's VM like jikesRVM, openJDK and Harmony etc. so we provide opportunity to compile on the fly and to change VM on the fly !-)
remember the JNode goal:
The goal is to get an simple to use and install Java operating system for personal use. Any java application should run on it, fast & secure!
Making VM itself doesn't make any effort on this goal. anyway, I don't prefer to implement VM in its main branch. It's not what Jnode should be. Anyone interest in VM could start a subproject and get involve in it.

what would it take to add virtual machine support. i am experimenting with vmware server, and im not sure if a desktop is supposed to come up but for me on vmware server nothing is coming up just a command line.
I require an experienced web developer with a background in vBulletin who is able to integrate vBulletin users with Pligg. This is a paid job that needs to be finished in a week from the start date.
The end result would take existing vBulletin users and add them to a Pligg user field. Registrations would be redirected to vBulletin and new vBulletin registrations would register into the Pligg user database. A cookie should be used to recognized logins/logouts from the Pligg portion of the site to the vBulletin portion. Hopefully this can be done with a vBulletin Product and Pligg Module or minimal Pligg custumizations. I want it to be as simple as possible to install because the work will be made available for mass download.
There is existing code that is a starting point for this project attached to this post, originally found at:
http://forums.pligg.com/downloads.php?do=file&id=9
The code created will most likely be distributed for free to the Pligg and vBulletin communities.
I posted the job on Odesk.com in case I can't find any developers on through pligg.com or vbulletin.org. Please leave a comment if you are interested in taking on this job and I will contact you for more information.
Hi,
I was wondering if you have considered the option of allowing downloads through .torrents, it does so in a P2P network and therefore downloads musch faster. Also it doesn't get stalled, as the usual FTP does.
There is a great Java program called Azureus that is multiplatform and can download .torrents, I bet that can be made to work in JNode itself, making it self hosting.
Cheers,
Guillermo.
jnode is java based ,so it can execute java apps!
I read that it needs to implement ,but why?
Pligg.com and Pligg.com/blog now both using the new "Fraxi" template, thanks to the work done by the folks at Moonrank USA. The design was created by me in Photoshop and ported as a Pligg template by Moonrank. The Pligg template version still hasn't been applied to the site because we are working on some new features release along side the new template. For now you have a beautiful new homepage and blog to look at and help us test out.
