Planned Maintenance
We will be bringing the site down for a short period today at 2PM PST for maintenance and upgrades.
The servers will be back up soon after that so stay tuned.
SWiK Steering Committee
We’re preparing a new update to the SWiK site and have a lot of further updates planned, and as we go along and change and introduce new things to SWiK and SWiK-Source it seems like it might be a good idea to have a discussion over email of ideas for how SWiK should run and what features we need to add.
I dunno if there is a lot of interest in people helping decide how swik should be run, but if you’d be interested send me an email at

Scheduled Outage
SWiK will be offline tonight from approx 4PM PST while we conduct maintenance on the site – we are working on a patch for the service that will improve editing and introduce new features.

SWiK - Reloaded
You might have noticed that we’ve recently updated SWiK – The Open Software Wiki.
There are way too many changes to list, but here are the biggest changes to Swik.net:
- Full Wiki Support. Edit any and every page. Add as many new pages as you want, no limitations. Making cool pages is really really with Textile.
- New Look. Completely new interface. More colorful layout, faster editing with Ajax, still driven by simple search.
- Tag Everything. Tag any page, wiki for every tag.
- Related Pages. SWiK now features improved heuristics for learning categorizations from tagging and user traffic.
- Start a personal Wiki. Create a wiki for your user name. Subscribe your existing blog to keep it updated, or you can even create a blog on SWiK.
- WikiBlogs. Group or personal blogging with the power of the wiki.
- International support. 龍 Edit pages in your own language, SWiK now supports Unicode text entry or unicode RSS feeds.
As always, SWiK is:
- Editable by anyone.
- Free and Open: Creative Commons license.
- Available in XML format.
- Constantly updated. Subscribe your blog, or any blog.
