AIGLX or Accelerated Indirect GLX is a X.org and Fedora project to provide video card accelerated rendering over GLX – allowing X clients to use a computer’s video card to drive X Windows animations, such as in OSX, Vista or Compiz/Xgl windowing systems.
Mandriva and Fedora have support for AIGLX, packages are available as well on Ubuntu.
AIGLX requires an embedded Intel i830-i945 integrated graphics processor, or an ATI Radeon X800 / NVIDIA 9xxxx card.
