No TagsThis is my Dilemma with the music business. As expensive as all this Pro Audio equipment is once you have to start over its like a endless pit you are trying to dig your way out. I live in new Orleans, la and the music and Recording business had to pretty much start from scratch. I was working in a local Recording studio getting a real good name for my self out here in New Orleans.
But when business died after Katrina I couldn’t afford rent and the Pro Audio equipment was not mine to keep. So now im just bouncing around from studio to studio hoping for somebody to get into the Recording studio game and have me run it. The only thing is that once you have things going with someone else’s equipment they get mad if you got some downtime hustle to get some extra cash and people go to tripping.
Thats why i say fuck everybody and get your own shit no matter how long it takes or how much it cost. Get the basics (Apple Laptop, Pro Tools) and build from there. But Once you have the skill to get clients to keep coming back you need to get your own shit and be in business for your self with the Recording studio business.
Hope i can help anybody the was thinking of running someone else’s Project studio.

Image via WikipediaI read this great article on Sampling rates and they did a study if there is any different’s in listening to a High Quality digital Recording like at 196 Khz To a normal Cd Quality Recording At 44.1 Khz. The Study is just like i have been saying for years. If The Human Ear has only the capacity to hear 20 Hz to 20 Khz then what is the point of using up unnecessary space. This is why the Mp3 is king because it sounds great and its free.

When hip hop artist use to rapp about rappers selling out they weren’t just talking about selling out yourself but almost like selling out your culture. Since the beginning of hip hop, Mainstream took it as a fad.
Rock and Roll bands and long hair rock bands of the 80’s went threw the same thing that rap stars are dealing with today. Over exposer, saturating the market and pretty much making everybody and there grandmother hate rap and hip hop when its all over. So what is big companies doing with hip hop now, they gave Sha Money XL the producer behind 50cent and a bunch more just landed a deal with Eidos to create a portable studio.
Now don’t get me wrong if you have a laptop with firewire Mbox you pretty much a portable studio. The only thing is that This is just at the palm of your hand with a boat load of sounds to make tracks anywhere you stand or sit for that matter. For fun is probably the way i would approach this product because i can’t imagine going into a studio and lay every individual sound one by one on that sony PSP.
