GMF is a web platform that provides a full framework orientated towards the easy development of web resources that stores user relevant information and that follow a workflow.

This is useful in IT departments, as one of GMF main goals is the complete implementation of the ITIL specification. A lot of work has been done towards this objective, and it has components for:

- Incident management (AKA Trouble ticket or Helpdesk)

- Inventory (the seed for a future CMDB)

- Change management
