pligg has poor support for Asian language

I am using the open source software pligg to build a Chinese digg website (http://www.wuliaotime.com) and found that pligg has poor support for Asian language. Although it can install a Chinese language package to easily show all the menus in Chinese, it does not support Chinese in many other aspects. For instance, its default search does not support Asian language. It does not allow a user to register a username in Asian language. Its RSS feed does not support Asian language.
