playgreen

PLAYGREEN is a community driven site focused on sustainable development. It is based on this assumption: The more we know, the better we can act and decide. Such a community could impact on the current industrial trends, and build up useful resources with a better accuracy and faster update rate than blogs.

Playgreen means to set the record straight on:

  • Good practices: Initiatives, projects aimed to solve energy problems, food supply, or create more sustainable infrastructures.
  • ‘Q&A’: A corner with very practical recipes to turn ‘greener’. How to reduce domestic WASTE. How to eat bio and cheap. Where to find ethanol gas station?
  • Encyclopedia: The ‘Wikipedia’ part of Playgreen, but not intended to duplicate its contents. It could be part of a bigger project, and Playgreen content could feed into it to complete it.

And to build up the reliability and trustworthiness of the information, Playgreen also welcomes experts, knowledgeable people, who will review entries and reorientate them if needed.

Several web sites, like World Changing, are gathering very valuable information on sustainable development. But I do believe a wiki focused on quite the same topics would be a good complement of information for their readers, could operate as a worldwide info database for readers willing to further investigate the solutions it published, and extend its reach to other countries, in Europe or in Asia for example.
