You know when it comes to New Years and Independence Day, you always get to see some really exotic, beautiful fireworks. Well, all those fireworks are nowdays controlled by an ignition control system but here’s how to make one for yourself.
At the heart of my firework ignition system is an SX48 running at 50 MHz. I was able to make full use of the SX’s 36 IO pins. Thirty lines are dedicated to the 30 channels. Two lines connect to a MAX233 chip for serial port control. Another line is connected to a 7805 (TO-92) which monitors the state of the arming key. The remaining 3 lines are used to communicate with the PIC A/D converter via an SPI interface. The system was built with cost as an important factor. At $10 the SX48 Proto board was an easy choice with its incorporated 5V regulator, led and all the difficult surface mount soldering already done for me. I also designed 2 pc boards using the freeware version of Cadsoft’s Eagle. The interface board connects the SX48 Proto board and contains the MAX233 chip, A/D converter and 30 LEDs to represent the state of each of the 30 channels.

Well it comes to us no surprise that one of the Presidential nominees McCain does not know how to use a computer. (For god sakes he’s 72 years old! Let’s hope he doesn’t have a heart attack before the elections)
If we are going to have a computer-illiterate McCain as President, we might as well have this 102 year old woman who has her own Facebook.
What I don’t understand is that McCain has all the money in the world but doesn’t know how to use the computer??? Even my girlfriend “was” a computer illiterate until she started browsing the web for her favorite celebrities and whatnot.
I don’t mind that you can’t type but for god sakes, at least get one of those voice recognition software. No wonder all those “you suck” e-mails I sent to McCain never got read. (Darn!)
Okay, enough for political bashing, I guess I am more for Obama at this point, it was always Hillary or Obama for me anyways, no more republicans in the house plz!

Pugs do have some particular health problems not common in all dog breeds. Pug dog health should be of concern for all pug owners. Pugs are prone to cardiac issues due to the strain put on their hearts, which become abnormally enlarged, by their nostrils. http://hubpages.com/hub/groomingpoodles

Here’s a great concept CPR resuscitation pad that might work if the pad itself was adjustable for people with different sizes. But yes, having one of these handy might be real useful for any heart attacks.
Proper application of CPR (cardiopulmonary resuscitation) can increase the chances of a victim surviving by up to 50%. Designer Ryan Helps (yup, really his name) has addressed this issue with his “CPR-PAD” design. When applied to the chest, this monitor/aid shows the optimal way to push the chest correctly, clicks when proper pressure is achieved and flashes the power light for proper rhythm.

im also exhibiting at New Designers London 9-13th July.
This past Friday, I made my first public appearance since my health problems, at the Crunchies.
I spent nearly two hours at the event (with doctor’s blessings) and it was well worth it. Sure I was tired by the end of it, but it was great to feel the good karma from all the people who were in attendance. Your blessings and prayers have worked their magic. While it is unlikely that I am going to be back working at full steam for near foreseeable future, it is time to start thinking about some lite-work, such as replying to emails, and perhaps an occasional blog post.
On another note, I am grateful that the Crunchies team decided to donate a portion of ticket sales to American Heart Association. If you would like to support the AHA, you can do so by contributing here. You can also support by contributing to the UCSF, the hospital whose doctors worked tirelessly to get me back on my feet.
More importantly, I hope you don’t make the mistakes I made — unhealthy eating habits, lack of exercise and vices such as smoking. With few lifestyle changes, heart related problems can be prevented. Do yourself a favor — go to the doctor and get yourself checked.
