Hi
Is it possible to make a bootable JNode USB ?
there are alot of java projects on apache.org site has anyone considered the integration of these java realted projects

It can only make a bootable JVM layer to adopt so many kind of opensource's VM like jikesRVM, openJDK and Harmony etc. so we provide opportunity to compile on the fly and to change VM on the fly !-)
remember the JNode goal:
The goal is to get an simple to use and install Java operating system for personal use. Any java application should run on it, fast & secure!
Making VM itself doesn't make any effort on this goal. anyway, I don't prefer to implement VM in its main branch. It's not what Jnode should be. Anyone interest in VM could start a subproject and get involve in it.
what would it take to add virtual machine support. i am experimenting with vmware server, and im not sure if a desktop is supposed to come up but for me on vmware server nothing is coming up just a command line.
Hi,
I was wondering if you have considered the option of allowing downloads through .torrents, it does so in a P2P network and therefore downloads musch faster. Also it doesn't get stalled, as the usual FTP does.
There is a great Java program called Azureus that is multiplatform and can download .torrents, I bet that can be made to work in JNode itself, making it self hosting.
Cheers,
Guillermo.
jnode is java based ,so it can execute java apps!
I read that it needs to implement ,but why?
hallo
guys,
In the Shell in the currently that in Jnode,i feel a problem of that. That taking input Runtime from the User at the promt.
During testing some small useful commands once i want to take a Input from the user during executing the command at runtime. But,i seen Only the Black screen retain after the Input writting.
I think its a unimplemented props in JNode shell.
tango
have you see JDistro ??? A desktop in pure Java
i think might be an alternative to JNode GUI
strating from jdistro have a base that can be used
or at lees learn something from JDistro to use to improve JNode Desktop
