The Limewire Open Source Project is offering bounties for a number of projects, ranging in difficulty and payout.

Each of the following small projects are worth $50:

~~Explore/Show File button on download page~~ (engaged by Syren Baran)
~~Cumulative repeat searches, instead of clearing and re-adding~~(engaged by Syren Baran)
A Console tab, and provide a unified way to send messages to it, e.g. redirecting log4j output

The Limewire Open Source Project is offering bounties for a number of projects, ranging in difficulty and payout.

Each of the following medium-sized projects are worth $200:

Add an option for the maximum transfer rate of a single file
Prevent one file from taking all upload slots
Client side queueing of multiple requests to a single host
A private folder accessible only by trusted users
Allow certain files/folders to get preferred status in upload slots
A mailto button for formatting & sending magnet links
Multiple download folders for different types of downloads
Sharing portions of iTunes selections by choosing a playlist
Ability to send download filename to search box
Additional browse host view that displays results with directory structure like in the Library
Complete drag ‘n drop support by adding drop support
A Gnutella connection tester
Chat improvements

Library improvements, such as a file search, file tagging/categorization, sort by date, etc.

Add the option of an email or IM notification when a download completes or fails
Ability to play .m4a and .wma files

The Limewire Open Source Project is offering bounties for a number of projects, ranging in difficulty and payout.

Each of the following large projects are worth $500:

Add a file rating system, allowing users to collectively rate fake/garbage/good/excellent files
A mini LimeWire to handle magnets
~~Search for quoted phrases, for instance “LimeWire Rocks” would find only results with “LimeWire Rocks” and not find “LimeWire on the Rocks”~~
User identity through dynamic DNS or similar technique
Better chat using standardized protocols, such as Jabber
New front-end that allows control of LimeWire via a web browser
Network monitoring and patrol tools to route out offenders
Client-side ability to read RSS feeds containing magnets and download selected files
