Messages is a open source framework to make internationalization easier for [[Java]] applications. It supports locales for threads and bundles can be associated with different packages. This allows the usage of different bundles for different parts of the application like plugins, installer or logging.

Bundles can be managed and associated with packages without any changes in the code. This makes bundle management and refactoring much easier than with other solutions. Messages supports global locales for client applications written in [[Swing]] or [[SWT]] and thread local ones for serverside web applications.

An example on using Messages:

Google Talk for the iPhone

Google Talk is now available for the iPhone without any modifications other than pointing your Safari browser to www.google.com/talk.

There are some differences from using Google Talk on your computer. For instance, in order to receive instant messages with Google Talk on your iPhone, the application needs to be open in your Safari browser. When you navigate away to another browser window or application, your status will be changed to “unavailable” and your Google Talk session will be restarted when you return.

This might be the craziest piano every built, an air piano that plays sounds based on your “touchless” finger movements.

Well, think of it this way, what if all the previous famous pianists had their hands on this one?

The AirPiano is an innovative musical interface which allows playing and controlling software instruments simply by moving hands in the air.

Above the AirPiano is a virtual matrix of keys and faders, each assigned with MIDI messages and ready to be triggered. The length of a triggered note is equivalent to the time a hand
is placed on the corresponding virtual key.
This is also confirmed by LED feedback.

Now here’s a way kids can set their phone to be audible, but not audible to the teacher, provided he’s over 30.

The short version, A tone outside the audible range of hearing for most people over the age of 30. This means that you can get phone calls and receive text messages in class or school without teachers hearing it.
