NEW YORK - A weeping Remy Ma was sentenced to eight years in prison Tuesday for shooting a woman outside a Manhattan nightclub. “I feel so bad for all the physical and mental pain you’ve gone through,” the Grammy-nominated rapper told the victim. “This has taken a toll on us and both our families. Aol Story On Judge Clears Cops In Groom’s Killing Has Over 8,000 Comments and counting!

Talk about some races comments going on over here. I could not sit there and read over 8,000 races comments all about this and that. I just wanted to make a point of that and maybe come up with a transcript comments plugin that just speaks out all the comments in a decent amount of speed like talking.

As far as the racism go i think the article set the mood off on a bad foot.

Scores of police officers surrounded the courthouse to guard against potential chaos, and as news of the verdict spread, many in the crowd began weeping. Others were enraged, swearing and screaming “Murderers! Murderers!” or “KKK!”

Once people read about that its on from there..check it out..

I Had A Studio, Built Clients And Now I have No Studio What Now?

Join the forum discussion on this post - (1) Posts

This is my Dilemma with the music business. As expensive as all this Pro Audio equipment is once you have to start over its like a endless pit you are trying to dig your way out. I live in new Orleans, la and the music and Recording business had to pretty much start from scratch. I was working in a local Recording studio getting a real good name for my self out here in New Orleans.

But when business died after Katrina I couldn’t afford rent and the Pro Audio equipment was not mine to keep. So now im just bouncing around from studio to studio hoping for somebody to get into the Recording studio game and have me run it. The only thing is that once you have things going with someone else’s equipment they get mad if you got some downtime hustle to get some extra cash and people go to tripping.

Thats why i say fuck everybody and get your own shit no matter how long it takes or how much it cost. Get the basics (Apple Laptop, Pro Tools) and build from there. But Once you have the skill to get clients to keep coming back you need to get your own shit and be in business for your self with the Recording studio business.

Hope i can help anybody the was thinking of running someone else’s Project studio.

Are non band playing Hip Hop acts not getting attention online?

I just recently joined a great site for discovering new music and it becomes fun when you really enjoy new music and not what just you hear on the radio or commercials. Thesixtyone.com gives you a music discovering experience like no other site, well except for digg.

See the way the site works is very simple, you upload your music and for an hour your music is on the front page of your genre in the browse menu of the site. I would love to tell you my secrets to gaining points fast but i just wanted to make a point about internet music and how it is making it hard for a Unsigned hip hop artist with no band to really make some noise online.

For Instance Soulja Boy Tellem blew up on the internet by making up some dance step the some white folks can dance to and bam you have another “hey macarena” on your hands. This is not the way hip hop wants to be presented online. Now i like the selection of hip hop on the sixty one but unless you doing what this kid can do you don’t get the amazing amount of bump ups in just a short range of time.

Im feeling like this because here is another band but this time its just two mcs on the mic spitting some real shit not just that bling and dancing shit but like old school nas.

Update: i decided to just put it on my page and see if i can get any new subscribers to give me some bumps..

Sprint updates drivers for Mac OS X

sprint-logo.jpg

I sure hope this works because I haven’t been able to use one of my Sprint dongles for months. Sprint has updated their drivers for Novatel EV-DO Rev. A devices (S720, U720, EX720 and U727) to play nice with Leopard and its WWAN framework. Sprint is even allowing your dongles to be used as GPS devices free of charge. High five, Sprint. Version 2.0 is a hefty 12MB and I hope it’s worth the time to download. Just wish I brought my U727 with me.

Of course, it’s not all peaches and cream. It appears that the WWAN interface doesn’t want to show you signal status, which is a real bummer consider that’s the only thing I really care about.

Update: Looks like this was released earlier in the month. Better late then never, I suppose.

BlackBerry, please make the following changes for 2008

newyearsresolution.gif
I don’t do well under pressure so I can’t think of anything off the top of my head. Maybe I need some coffee. My only gripes are HTML e-mail and something else that I just forgot. I need some coffee. In the meantime, feel free to add to the list in comments.

1. Don’t shut off the red led light for new alerts after a while, let the user shut it off to acknowledge the alert
2. Alarm Utility - More then one alarm, more snooze options, unlimited ringing option
3. Postponed Events and Task by a number of minutes you select when they come on, preset snooze times are lame
4. Add birthdays and Anniversaries to contact, synchronize with outlook
5. Phone numbers with extension are not showing in the caller ID with the name associate with that number
6. When you dismiss or postponed something on the Blackberry it should impose it to Outlook and vice versa
7. Have the same outlook fields for contacts
8. Led behaviour determined by profile
9. Have the ability to change the timezone on the device without affecting the Calendar records

My List of Suggestions [Pinstack]

CrunchGear virus false alarm in IE

It appears some anti-virus software is pinging mootools — a Javascript script that is running on this site now — as a SNZ.A virus. I discovered that this has been happening recently and isn’t a virus but I have some nerds working on it so you won’t get the computer-herp.

LG Rumor has problems, big problems

The LG Rumor for Sprint appears to have major issues. Big time problems. A debugging menu has been found on the device that triggers a complete wipe of the phone including its firmware. For the time being, Sprint has halted all shipments of the Rumor pending LG’s firmware update that will remove the code to access the debugging menu. The specific details on how to access the menu are unknown, so I suggest you put it under your couch cushions until the update. Heh. Current Rumor owners will have to wait for an OTA while prospects looking to pick one up should wait till the firmware has been updated.

The Wii, DS pwn everyone and their mother

dswiiconnectivity.jpg

Yes, we all know the Wii is still an elusive bugger and the DS is hot stuff (it’s outselling the PSP), but the novelty of both have warn off. I don’t touch the Wii anymore, but I am learning Spanish via My Spanish Coach at the moment on my DS. The NYT has a fancy, yet bloated, article on the success of both devices for Nintendo and the only thing worth noting from the whole thing is the following:

Mr. Fils-Aime said that future DS device will be more tightly integrated with its Wii console. Complete games as well as game samplers will be able to be downloaded into the Wii using its broadband connection, and then transferred wirelessly to the DS.

CrunchGear’s 2007 Year-End review round-up

It’s the end of the year, and we’ve covered a lot of ground in the last 12 months, much of it with snarky reviews. Let’s look back, shall we, at a handful of these reviews, just for fun. We’ve seeen phones, cameras, iPods, cases, and combinations thereof. These items we liked (usually), and we think you’ll like them, too. The rest can be found here or here.

Ultimate Ears Super.fi 4vi: the review

While the iPhone has many problems, we’re only going to focus on one: Apple’s crazy decision to use a recessed headphone jack; a decision that, without a clunky adapter, rendered useless every decent set of headphones out there. And even with the adapter, your headphones have no mic or toggle button, which is one of the coolest things of the iPhone. It was a conundrum of epic proportions.

Six months out, however, we have some options.

DLO’s Dope iPhone Cases

While I’m not one for trapping my electronics in cases myself, I know that I’m in the minority. Your iPod will get dropped, dirty, and damp, some protective armor of some sort is in order. And if you’re an iPhone user, then protecting your fragile investment is important, and DLO has you covered, too.

Sprint’s HTC Touch

The Touch by HTC is hands down one of the best devices I’ve used in the past two years. That says a lot considering the number of devices that roll through the CrunchGear offices. But to each his own, I say. The Touch has been an integral part of my stay in the Bay Area and has saved me on more than one occasion.

Sidekick LX

When I got the LX last week, I wasn’t sure I would enjoy it. After all, I had already abandoned the SK3 and SK ID for the charming animations of the iPhone. So what if the iPhone didn’t have native AIM on the iPhone — there were a few apps that kind of worked. So what if the iPhone didn’t have a solid, real keyboard. I could handle that. So what if the iPhone wasn’t one of the best casual messaging phones on the market?

Sprint’s Palm Centro

For those of you who might not know, the Centro is Palm’s follow-up to the popular Treo line of smartphones. Features-wise, it’s pretty similar. The Centro takes the Treo’s aged form-factor up to a more modern level. The Centro isn’t the smallest smartphone out there, but it competes nicely.

Helio Ocean

The Helio Ocean marks a sea change in the evolution of MVNOs. Previously allotted for a limited demographic, the Ocean signals a significant market expansion for the cellco youngster Helio. Aimed directly at the Sidekick crowd, the Ocean could be poised to erode some of T-Mobile’s bountiful cache of hip youngsters with cash to liquidate for cool technologies.

Casio Exilim EX-Z75

For the past year, I’ve spent time with numerous Casio digital cameras. The Exilim series has proven to be an excellent blend of both value and performance. A fantastic camera at a low price if you will. But camera after camera, Casio didn’t really do much to change the design of each model. At one point, the difference between a 10.1-megapixel camera and a 6-megapixel camera was virtually undetectable (well, except for the megapixel thing). But with the release of the EX-Z75, Casio has tried something new. The unit I received has a new design, a bright blue paint job, and a new UI to play with. Has Casio finally taken a step forward?

iPod Touch

If you know someone who wants an iPhone, don’t get it for them. Instead get them the fantastic — yes, fantastic — iPod Touch. The iPhone, design and interface aside, is a crappy cellphone. No, it is. When I first got mine, I said, “If they can find a way to take out the phone part, I’d be in love.” They did that, and so dubbed it the iPod Touch.

HD DVD and Blu-ray at a stalemate

format-war.jpg
The NY Times today has a piece reporting on the general state of high def DVDs. The report concludes that with about a million players in circulation (both formats combined), most consumers appear to be opting out of the battle altogether.

For me, it raises a lot of questions. It’s clear that one of the formats will take the throne from the DVD, but the question remains as to which one it will be. While Blu-ray is technologically superior, HD DVD’s price point makes it more consumer friendly.

I’m currently the owner of a Toshiba HD DVD player and find it to be passable, though I miss the snappiness of my old DVD player, the image quality is stellar. And it only cost $99, so it really couldn’t be beaten.

It makes me curious, however, as to
