This is beryl 0.1(a compiz fork) running in KDE 3.5 on SUSE Linux 10.1. It works fine using only nvidia extensions to basic Xorg 7.1. No need to install memory-hogging xgl server or configuring aiglx. A few additional nvidia-xconfig tweaks and it runs fine instantly. Direct rendering is automatically enabled. The VMWare guest operating systems can have accelerated video, while OpenGL apps such as Stellarium and Celestia run as fast as they can.

Right side of the cube: That's the excellent software synthesizer Reason 3.0.4 demo version running inside Windows 2000 Advanced Server in VMWare (allocated 256 MB for guest OS). Crystal clock and Techmon Lite karamba applets.

Left side of the cube: Nothing unusual, just gwenview, Opera, konsole, xmms with semi-transparent OpenGL spectrum analyzer.
