partimage
Partimage is a partition imaging tool, similar to the proprietary imaging tool, Symantec Ghost that runs on Unix/Linux. The saved image files are saved efficiently, unlike the dd utility, Partimage will not include free and empty blocks in the image. Images can also be compressed with gzip or bzip2, and saved across a network partition or split into smaller files. PowerPC and x86 platforms are supported.
