The largest Rails site on the Web needs a Back-End Rails Engineer! (San Francisco, CA): Scribd, the document sharing site (I consider it the "YouTube for documents" but they might not be so keen on the comparison), is looking for a back-end Rails engineer to work on their ground-breaking site (supposedly the most trafficked Rails-powered site in the world). They're located in downtown San Francisco and are looking for someone who thinks about scaling Rails apps in their sleep and who's ready to leap into a real Rails sysadmin challenge. Scribd are also looking for a Data and Analytics Engineer.

TechCrunch needs a Ruby Developer (Atherton, CA): TechCrunch should need no introduction as the most influential and significant blog / news site surrounding the whole new Web startup world. They're mostly a Ruby shop and use Rails on a number of projects. The most significant project at this point is CrunchBase. The job requirements are realistic - you need at least six months' experience with Ruby and Rails, experience with Web applications and relational databases, and, ideally, a computer science degree. It should go without saying that this is an ideal position for someone who wants to learn about the industry as a whole and build up some excellent contacts.

Interactive Application Developer needed in SF (San Francisco, CA): Wested is a research and service agency working within under-served communities to increase the quality and service of education and other issues of human development. They're looking for someone to join an established, diverse team of Web, media, and database developers. You would be based in the SoMa office in SF, have UNIX experience, know Ruby (and OO in general), and have database, SQL, HTML, and CSS experience.

Get Satisfaction needs a Ruby Zen Master! (San Francisco, CA): Get Satisfaction is a popular startup offering Web-based community service / helpdesk services for other Web applications. They're looking for a "Ruby zen master" to help build and extend their primary Web application. The ideal candidate will be a great generalist well versed in Ruby (whether using Rails or not), database work, problem solving, and a willingness to analyze pre-existing code.

Stealth healthcare startup needs a Rails Web Applications Engineer (San Francisco, CA): A VC-funded stealth startup in the healthcare industry is looking for a Ruby on Rails Web applications engineer to help work on innovative Web applications. They're using Rails, Amazon EC2, Amazon S3, Prototype, Scriptaculous and Memcached - so experience and willingness to learn will be needed with these. You'll need a Computer Science degree and have experience in developing Web applications as well as TDD/BDD.
