There’s remarkably little information online about using MySQL on ZFS, successfully or not, so I did what any enterprising geek would do: Built a box, threw some data on it, and tossed it into production to see if it would sink or swim.

openQRM is the next generation, open-source Data-center management platform. Its fully pluggable architecture focuses on automatic, rapid- and appliance-based deployment, monitoring and high-availability and especially on supporting and conforming multiple virtualization technologies. openQRM is a single-management console for the complete IT-infra structure and provides a well defined API which can be used to integrate third-party tools as additional plugins.

This guide is intended to show a new user the capabilities of ZFS when coupled with Solaris Containers. It describes the assignment of a ZFS file system to a zone, and some of the ZFS administrative tasks possible in such a configuration. Assigning a file system to a zone gives a zone administrator full delegated control of the ZFS file system, enabling them to take snapshots, create sub file systems and perform other tasks without requiring the global zone administrator's intervention.
