Parental Controls
Last year, Netflix introduced a parental controls feature that allows you to restrict access to age-inappropriate titles for specific profiles. To use the new features, simply navigate your account page from any web browser and scroll down to Profile & Parental Controls settings; from there select an individual profile with the arrow to reveal viewing restrictions options – maturity levels can be set, PIN codes may be required, and lists of restricted titles can be provided; alternatively you may set your profile up as Kids Experience only which restricts what content the user sees when browsing Netflix in future!
Setting parental controls can be easy, but even an determined child could still manage to disable them. Therefore, it’s crucial that settings be protected with a PIN code – to do this simply create a Profile Lock PIN for both your main profile and any additional ones you don’t wish for your kids to have access to and disable.
After adding your children, create profiles which you don’t wish them to access and add a PIN code – this way only you will be able to change parental controls or unlock profiles.
Though Netflix provides helpful parental controls, they don’t offer full protection from children encountering content online that is inappropriate or violates other people’s privacy.
