Early on, the RocketDock gallery featured an active community of users sharing skins, icons, docklets and other customization resources for use with PunkLabs’ app RocketDock. Unfortunately, due to limited resources being created by PunkLabs’ company behind RocketDock themselves and thus hosted by this gallery – PunkLabs no longer runs it themselves – but visiting its link now redirects directly to PunkLabs’ official RocketDock website instead of redirecting directly into another website such as Deviantart where these resources can still be downloaded as previously or alternatively from other sources such as Deviantart or PunkLabs themselves!

Performance

RocketDock is a free utility designed to turn your desktop computer into something reminiscent of Mac OS, complete with its signature dock. This utility organizes programs into a toolbar which “hangs” at the top of your screen like its Mac counterpart, allows running windows to be minimized into its toolbar, updates its taskbar with live thumbnail updates and has customizable keyboard shortcuts as well as support for multiple desktops.

RocketDock software is highly configurable, offering options to set its position and select one of dozens of themes available online. Furthermore, its built-in theme editor enables users to design custom styles and layouts. Furthermore, its functionality is further extended by plugins which enhance its ability to do even more with icons – for instance automatically hiding itself when not active, or aligning itself with desktop wallpaper positions.

This program also has an advanced feature which enables users to move their mouse cursor over an icon and enlarge it, similar to how a Mac OSX dock does, which can be especially helpful when dealing with large icons. Furthermore, the program detects changes in screen resolution automatically and adjusts itself accordingly.

RocketDock is an extremely flexible tool. Icons can be displayed with various opacity levels, while its base can be moved anywhere on the screen’s edge. In addition, drag-and-drop functionality enables users to launch applications from their mouse cursor. Finally, its toolbar can be placed at the bottom of the display for optimal space usage.

As well as visual improvements, there have been several enhancements in the underlying code of the dock. Now it responds dynamically rather than having to restart after configuration changes have taken effect and displays an indicator showing which Rocketdock item is currently selected; there are tooltips for all controls as well as a help facility; image thumbnails have become larger; while old “Get More” buttons no longer result in dead links.
