Frame level editing ensures precise cuts in TMPGEnc Authoring Works 7 without leaving behind unwanted parts – an improvement over previous products which used GOP level cuts for cutting.

Supports a Wide Range of Time-Tested & Recent Formats

TMPGEnc Authoring Works is designed to quickly create DVD-Video, Blu-ray Disc and AVCHD standard-compliant media by editing video files, designing a menu and outputting to either an ISO image for burning.

TMPGenc Authoring Works 6 offers an updated output function which increases rendering and encoding efficiency. With its new Smart Indicator feature, this program shows users their current rendering/encoding status at a glance.

Also available is a “First Play” track which can automatically play when inserting a DVD or Blu-ray Disc into a player, making it possible to include an introduction video, concept video, sponsor logos and more for initial project presentation.

Track BGM Edit has also been added, which allows you to freely place background audio streams onto a track while visually recognizing their locations. This helps put narration, music and other forms of audio where it belongs while guaranteeing each stream outputted in its correct format.

TMPGEnc Authoring Works 6 provides real-time output formatting conversion, allowing you to alter the format of your project from one format to another in real time if editing with the incorrect one or needing multiple formats concurrently. This feature can come in handy if editing with an incompatible one initially or simply wish to work on projects using multiple formats simultaneously.

Supports Animated GIF Import

TMPGEnc Authoring Works supports animated GIFs, making them ideal for use as menu templates or backgrounds. Create an individual menu from images and video clips using this simple function without needing additional design skills or software.

TMPGEnc Authoring Works Supports Output Format Conversion While Editing

Unlike other software that requires you to stop editing in order to switch output formats, TMPGEnc Authoring Works makes this possible in real-time – you can even change output formats while making clips edits! So quickly change your project into the format you desire while maintaining editing progress!

Smart Rendering Function for High Quality Output

TMPGEnc Authoring Works uses an advanced video encoder to implement its “Smart Rendering” output function, producing exceptional quality at ultra-high speed. It analyzes video files and only re-encodes those parts which have changed, such as cut/connect points and sections with transitions or effects added; producing highly efficient output with superior picture quality.

TMPGEnc Authoring Works 5 is powered by NVIDIA’s CUDA technology and, when coupled with a compatible GPU, can achieve faster processing speeds than just using the CPU alone. This significantly shortens time required for encoding, cutting and connecting videos; as well as high-speed rendering for HDV files such as AVCHD or TS.

Supports Output Format Conversion While Editing

TMPGEnc Authoring Works 7 now also supports “Hardcoded Subtitles”, embedded directly into video as part of its composition, for improved editing efficiency. No more manual switching! Furthermore, pictures may also be used as subtitles or watermarks (text or image).

Newly installed “Track BGM Edit function” enables background audio streams to be placed freely on tracks, giving you more freedom in creating custom layouts of content such as an introduction video, concept video or sponsorship logos in an original manner.

TMPGEnc Authoring Works 6 allows you to add up to eight closed caption or subtitle streams and four audio streams, giving you plenty of room for creating diverse types of content – such as slideshow movies from photos that you own or even adding commentary tracks for videos.

The Advanced Output Size Analyzer allows you to access more precise estimated output size information for each track of your project, as well as visual tree-form representation of this breakdown. This makes it easier to verify how much data will be produced when outputting.

TMPGEnc Authoring Works’ user-friendly UI has just become even friendlier, with an easy menu creation function designed to help even novice users create menus quickly and simply. Furthermore, its menu template is taken directly from clip editing data making the entire process faster and simpler than ever.

Supports Direct Import of ISO Files

TMPGEnc Authoring Works supports direct import of ISO files, making content import simpler than ever. You can easily create DVD, Blu-ray or AVCHD projects from ISO files containing video clips, images or soundtracks with minimal loss in quality.

Utilizing NVIDIA CUDA or Intel(r) Media SDK Hardware Decoding Support, TMPGEnc Authoring Works 6 provides superior processing acceleration when rendering H.264/AVC videos, enabling faster project completion by taking advantage of both GPU processing power as well as traditional CPU use.

Recently Added 3D Transition Effects Now it is easier than ever to apply transition effects to photos and videos, adding depth and dimension to your creations. Choose from 170 distinct kinds of transition effects to add transition effects between slideshow photos or between video clips for an authentic three-dimensional effect in your slideshows and videos.

Upload up to eight subtitles streams*1 into one project, and output them on DVD or Blu-ray. In the past, subtitles text was restricted by predefined layout settings – now, however, it can be freely placed anywhere within the video frame, expanding your creativity when creating subtitles. Furthermore, copy and paste track settings to duplicate tracks quickly for greater efficiency.

Supports Import of MXF Containers

As part of its efforts to support professional-grade equipment, TMPGEnc Authoring Works now features direct import from MXF containers (the container format used by numerous professional video production tools) allowing direct insertion. This makes creating original discs even for those with limited source files simple.

Make a professional-looking disc easily by adding up to four audio and eight subtitle streams*1 into a project, and outputting them onto Blu-ray (BDMV), DVD-Video or AVCHD media. Furthermore, adding slideshow movies made easily from photos taken of yourself into your project allows for a high-quality, original design with flexible layout design options.

Integrates our own MPEG-1/2 encoder which has received international praise, providing high quality processing of HD formats such as H.265/HEVC, TS, AVCHD and GoPro recorded videos without needing external CODECs for editing with maximum image quality. This makes the program user friendly without the need to install external CODECs; edit with maximum image quality!

Simply plan the flow of your edited content with our intuitive editing interface and variety of shortcuts that let you cut, add subtitles and reach final output quickly by adhering to an easy workflow. Furthermore, TMPGEnc Authoring Works supports directly importing Canon Cinema RAW Light files, making editing the RAW developed video data possible immediately in a familiar editing environment.

Supports Import of Lossless Audio Codecs

TMPGEnc Authoring Works’ output functions have been overhauled to take advantage of 64-bit architecture, and optimized to improve output efficiency. A newly implemented “Smart Rendering” function analyzes content to detect any changes made (cuts/splits/joins or added transitions and effects). Only parts that have changed need reencoding – significantly decreasing time required for output without compromising quality. A newly implemented Smart Indicator lights up when Smart Rendering is active while disabling itself when encoding takes place, making it easy for users to identify current output status quickly.

Apple Lossless Audio Codec, commonly referred to as ALAC (Apple Lossless Audio Codec), supports import for use as slideshow music or track BGM without prior file conversion, while GoPro Cineform(r) format also can be imported directly.

Beginners and experts alike can quickly create menus using the built-in menu creation tool, using editing data of clips. Add elements, buttons and backgrounds easily while editing titles and chapter names as you go!

Support of the first play function allows a unique track to play before an actual disc starts playing – this feature can be useful in showing an introduction video, concept video or sponsor logos and is an excellent way of personalizing a Blu-ray or DVD.
